the social world has 2 clear dimensions: the horizontal dimension of closeness and liking, and the vertical dimension of hierarchy and status. it remains a balanced equilibrium in constant shift, wherein natures is the sole mediator of the collective. yet, most people stratify “good” and “bad” based on how it affects their individual circumstances alone. we get too hung up on how things should be, leading us to miss out on learning how they really are, and why what nature is doing makes sense.

we live in a framework that defines the world as a state of continuous insufficiency. often we derive meaning from seeking its correction, but even when satisfied temporarily, we remain curious. it could be said that human beings are a species splendid in their array of moral equipment, tragic in their propensity to misuse it, and pathetic in their constitutional ignorance of the misuse.

being requires limitation. if you already have everything and can go everywhere, there is nowhere to go and nothing to be. however, limitation is also nothing more than a mentality; it can either be used to motivate or discourage man to make use of the opportunities to grow beyond oneself. too many good people practice the latter until they believe it as reality

it’s amazing how overly accessible people are, yet simultaneously still deprived of fulfilling conversations; the advent of digital communication creates this cognitive dissonance. something meant to further our sense of connection in some respects leads to the same sense of disconnect. hence, it must be considered that the level in which communication is fulfilled deciphers whether or not an individual truly connects with another person, or whether they want to be isolated from other people entirely.

the ability to hide and control your emotions is associated with a sign of maturity. some learn how to be considerate of others and feel complacent to the burden of vulnerability, while others simply become more dissociated from our true emotions. either way, we lose more and more of ourselves as the conscious is molded by societal constructs. are we learning or unlearning from our lively examination of the human condition?
